A Coastal Home Amongst The Trees

Par St in Anglesea, Victoria. A coastal home located in a BAL 19 Zone, was a small, termite-damaged weatherboard house on a 570m² block with a mature native garden. Jacon CC rebuilt the home, retaining the existing slab and expanding the footprint from 116m² to 153m². The redesign focused on natural light, spatial flow, and thermal efficiency, featuring a vaulted ceiling, a new kitchen with a butler's pantry, a formal dining wing with garden views, and Blackbutt timber floors. The home now includes three bedrooms, two bathrooms, built-in storage, and double-glazed windows and robust exterior materials for BAL 19 bushfire compliance. It has been transformed from a dark and disconnected house into a light-filled, functional retreat that complements its native garden.
