Meet The Team
John "Jock" O'Connor
Founder | Director | Registered Builder
With over 40 years of industry experience, Jock brings a wealth of knowledge, practical expertise, and leadership to Jacon CC. Beginning his career as an apprentice carpenter in Melbourne’s CBD, he worked on major high-rise projects before spending two years at Davis Station in Antarctica constructing complex infrastructure in extreme conditions.
Since then, Jock has built a diverse portfolio of residential homes across Victoria, with a strong focus on the Surf Coast. His expertise also extends to the commercial sector, where he has managed retail and hospitality fit-outs across Australia — known for his problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to deliver under pressure.
A proud Anglesea local and life member of the Anglesea Motor Yacht Club, Jock played a key role in the 2021 clubhouse redevelopment. As Director, he ensures every Jacon CC project is delivered to the highest standard while maintaining trusted relationships with clients and trades alike.
Ryan O'Connor
Director | Registered Builder
With over 20 years in the construction industry, Ryan brings hands-on expertise, strong leadership, and a commitment to building high-quality, enduring homes. As Director, he’s involved in every stage of each project—from design and client engagement to on-site coordination and delivery.
Starting his career in 2005 with a carpentry apprenticeship under his father, John, Ryan has since gained broad experience across residential and commercial projects. Since joining Jacon CC as Director in 2017, he’s helped shape the company’s direction by introducing advanced management systems, high-performance construction methods, and maintaining a strong on-site presence.
Raised in Anglesea, Ryan has a deep understanding of local building conditions and design challenges. He’s passionate about creating functional, efficient homes that respond to the coastal environment—homes built to last and built with care. Ryan holds a Domestic Building Unlimited (DBU) registration and proudly serves his community as an active member of the Anglesea Fire Brigade (CFA) since 2004.
Renee O'Connor
Accounts and Administrator
Renee manages accounts while keeping the administrative side of the business running smoothly. With over eight years of experience in administration she plays a key role in supporting the team behind the scenes.
As John’s daughter and Ryan’s sister, Renee is part of the Jacon CC family in every sense of the word. She brings both professional skill and a deep understanding of the company’s values of pride, integrity, and trust to everything she does.
Holding a Diploma of Accounting and a strong background in small business operations, Renee combines her attention to detail and organisational skills to ensure accuracy, transparency, and first-rate service for clients.
She enjoys working alongside passionate builders who take pride in creating beautiful, lasting homes for Jacon CC clients and values being part of a team that delivers a seamless building experience from start to finish.
