Anglesea Coastal Refurbishment – A Home Revisited

Originally constructed by John over 30 years ago, this unique three-story architectural home was thoughtfully designed to maximize its elevated position, offering sweeping views over the Anglesea coastline.
Three decades on, Jacon CC was engaged to restore, reconfigure, and modernise the original structure, ensuring it could continue to meet the demands of contemporary coastal living while preserving its original spirit.
Our work focused on improving the home’s structural integrity, functionality, and longevity. We replaced the second and third-storey rear decks, reinforcing them for safety and durability, and upgraded weathered cedar windows, which had deteriorated from decades of coastal exposure.
To increase performance and extend the life of the home, we undertook a full recladding of the three-storey façade using James Hardie’s Newport profile—a cement-based product chosen to match the original aesthetic while offering superior resilience in the harsh coastal environment.
Inside, we revitalised the third-floor living area, installing a new kitchen, updating the ensuite and laundry , and refreshing the internal finishes to bring new life to this much-loved home. The result is a thoughtful blend of old and new—an architectural home once again ready to capture the ocean breezes and carry its story forward for decades to come.
